Dr. Michael P. Good, the founder of Homeless Pet Clubs of America (HPCA) traveled to the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center to spread his mission on Thursday, February 14th. Dr. Good’s mission is to the change the lives of millions cats and dogs in this country for one reason only, they are homeless. These animals are not dangerous or disease ridden, they simply don’t have a place to call home. Every year, millions of cats and dogs are euthanized as a form of population control. The HPCA’s goal is to reduce the numbers of lives lost and raise the number of pets being adopted.

The Homeless Pet Clubs of America stems from Dr. Good’s love in his veterinary work. After being told he would never make it as a vet, Dr. Good proved everyone wrong and became not only a successful vet, but a hero. Dr. Good is a hero because he decided to dedicate his time to saving the lives of hundreds of cats and dogs. Dr. Good started working with rescue groups because he wanted to simply support what they were trying to do. In the beginning of his career, Dr. Good would fix up abused and hurt dogs and cats for rescue groups and simply discount the services. There was only one reason he did this, he loved animals.

His mission continues today through the Homeless Pet Clubs of America’s (HPCA), which encourages schools, community groups, and businesses to team up with animal rescue organizations. Members of the Homeless Pet Clubs tell the stories of adoptable animals across a variety of media platforms. These members serve as the voice of the animal.
